Dallas repair shop?

Hey fellow Texans - I have seen quite a few postings from others in the Dallas area. Maybe we can form our own chapter. :-) Has anyone found a qualified repair person in our area? I have used my model B stove for 20 years, and it is overdue for some maintenance. I think my stove is in need of a new/rebuilt manifold as the oven gas control in particular is not 'snapping' on and off like it should. Sometimes the gas does not cut off completely unless you jiggle it. I have spent hours searching this forum, and have read countless threads on repair & maintenance so we can attempt to do some of the work ourselves. I would also like to have a local technician we could call in when needed. Seems like a city the size of Dallas should have a Chambers repair service. I would like to hear your feedback. On another note, after being in the family for 20 years, I have decided that my faithful Chambers deserves a name. I have decided on the name 'Opal'. This was my grandmother's name, and while she never had a Chambers stove, she did teach me to cook. So Opal it is. I have attempted to include a photo of Opal. Sounds to me like Opal needs her valves cleaned and re-greased.

BTW that's a beautiful oven. And the photo of the placement in the kitchen gives me an idea for exactly how to place "Mrs Adams" in ours. Now, if I could just figure out where to put that pesky refrigerator?

Right-click that red X and select "View Image," then you'll see it.

My BZ is also named Opal after the original owner.

It is a very good name.

Thanks Mark for posting the picture. Can you explain what I need to do next time to get either the link or picture to show? I had clicked on the 'image' button, and then pasted in the flickr link. Obviously that was not quite right. I am pretty new to forums, and I don't know all the tricks yet.

What happened was you put a non-image in as if it were an image. When you got the link from flickr, it was a link to a page with the image on it.

This was the link you used:

Notice that it does not end in .jpg. It is just a link to a flickr web page, and does not display just the image, but rather the image plus other information from flickr.

That will not correctly display on this hostboard as an image. What you need to do is go one step further, from the flickr page, right-click (or option-click on mac) on the image you want, then select View Image. Then it will display the image along with its correct URL in the browser window. Copy/Paste this URL to put an image on this board.

This is the link to the image. Note the difference. It ends in .jpg and displays just the image when you click on it.

When you put that same image URL inbetween two IMG tags on this board, this is the result:
